Student Leaders' Camp '04
Home at last. Sunburnt and totally dead tired. Spent the last 3 days at the Student Leaders' Camp (SLC) from 14th Dec to 16th Dec. It was held at East Coast Costa Sands. Really enjoyed myself and made some new and interesting friends haha.
DAY 1
Met up with Peijun and Gavin for breakfast at Bedok Interchange Mac at around 8 plus in the morning. Then at about 9 am we met Elaine and her friend, Shuwei, and the 5 of us miraculously got a cab that is willing to take all 5 of us haha. Reached Costa Sands, got a briefing, played some cards and waited for the campers to arrive. Lunch wasn't very appealing at all. Some of the guys even swore they preferred SFI food haha. Well, as what a friend of mine noted, she said it was a 3 coloured meal and she wasn't generalising haha. It was really 3 colours only. White for the rice, yellow for the plain cabbage and brown for the small drumstick. Nonetheless, we managed somehow to deal with it and moved on to the games.
The game for first day was
Scamble Scrabble where teams would have to form a word that comprises of the most number of points, much like
Scrabble. The only thing was that they had to move around marine parade and east coast to look for stations to obtain the letter they want. Kinda fun if you think of it. As for the group we were in charged of, they gave a very slack impression but they are actually quite good. Even with the boh chap attitude we managed to get 3rd place for this game hahaha.

At night after the games, they had a speed dating session at the beach haha. The strong sea breeze and the soothing sound of the waves plus lots of tea candle all over the beach was really a very nice combi.
DAY 2
Woke up early at about 7 plus for breakfast. Played some beach games. After that was lunch which was totally very disappointing. White rice and 2 pieces of curry chicken. It was really very bad... Even ChuiJia was saying that she can cry haha. So from 2pm to 6pm, the groups had their own free time to think of a skit. So as facilitators, we had our own free time as well. So me and Siyong went over to the girls room to find them to play cards (ratio of guy to girl facilitators is about 1:3 by the way ) haha. So we played bridge throught the afternoon and soon, we all got addcited to it hahaha.
Dinner was at 6pm and it was really a surprise. We had bbq and catering. It was really very nice as they even hired pple to help us do the bbq. Really enjoyed it a lot. As we all said, its been days since we had a decent meal hahaha.
After that was the skit presentation. All teams really put up very interesting but a bit R(A) and some very politically explicit shows haha. For instance we see Rash jumping and hugging Ken Pan and making out on the table hahahaha. And the story of how Ah Bian got a bullet in his ass haha. Loads of funny skits.
Soon, its lights out time, but.... no one slept haha. People were going out for supper, watching tv and having many gatherings. So me, fujie, yongjia and siyong went over to play cards with Chuijia, jessie, amy and ziling. Bridge, 99, daidee... Lots of games and loads of crappy jokes. Dunno why but all of us quite hyper. No need to sleep one haha.
Oh, i found out a very interesting thing. Jessie lives opposite my block, Chuijia and Amy stays few blocks away from mine. Haha. So from then on, we named outselves the Aljunians (people staying around Aljunied). Was really quite surprised yet delighted to find so many people staying around me and yet i never knew about it haha.

DAY 3
This was the last day of the camp. After breakfast, we had a discussion forum among all the student leaders on the current issues and what NUSSU can do to further help the student body. Among all these topics are:
- 5% increase in Tuition fee and what NUSSU can be do about it
- Relations and barriers between local students and International students
- How foreign students can play a bigger role in a local-student-dominated NUSSU and other various CCAs
- Moving of the Universtiy Hall to beside Science Faculty
- Setting up of a commission to review the excessive CCA points given by halls of residence
- Revamp the CCA system to prevent abuse of it
- Regualation of CCA points distribution among all CCAs
- Building of a sky bridge in NUS
- Setting up of temporary sleeping areas for students during exam period
- Increasing amount of hostels from the present 20% of student population to 50% by 2010
After the discussions was the final games, followed by lunch and break camp. Really enjoyed myself more or less. Made some new friends and gathered with some old ones.

East Coast Breeze
Feeling kinda down these past few days, so i've decided to go down to East Coast last night with a good friend of mine. Sat there, thought about and talked about a lot of stuff. Enjoyed the sea breeze. Really a very soothing effect. Sounds of the waves and feel of the breeze. Not to mention the very beautiful sunset. Really haven't been coming to east coast for a long time. Almost forgot how wonderful the view could be.

Wats Up Ten Years From Now
Picture this: A reasonably well paid job, a house, a cat, a state-of-the-art computer and tons of games. That's what i picture myself 10 years down the road. Hmmm, some might ask, girlfriend? Wife? I guess, these just ain't in the equation. Somehow, the slightest possible notion of these "luxuries" of life are starting to vanish. Too much hurt. Too much pain. Too much. So many things had happened causing me to start considering giving up on love. Forsake it. Save myself. Save my heart. Save my soul. Salvage what's left of the broken me. Some of you might know what's going. For those who do. Thank you. Thanks for all the support. But sometimes, life just ain't fair. No matter how much i devote myself to, disappointment always follows. Really tried. Gave it all my best. Guess its just me. Shitty me. Useless me. Worthless me.
Guess i'll just live on alone. For now. For the rest of my breathing days. What's there to be afraid of.

Time to shape up
Yesterday was the start of my fitness regime to build up for the up and coming IPPT hahaha. Just finish swimming and had a very very very healthy lunch consisting of:
1/2 lettuce ,
1 carrot finely sliced,
1 yellow pepper,
2 tomotoes,
1 lemon,
a bit of white wine vinegar and olive oil (yummy)
1 hard boiled egg
1 cup of fresh guava juice
Later on in the evening, i'll be going for a jog haha. Haven't been really exercising after NS. Everyday was school, tutorials and exams. Really felt very tired and lethargic plus had been gaining lots of weight and losing all the muscles haha. Must take this opportunity to tone up man haha. Already starting to feel good haha...

End of Exams
Finally, after weeks of torture, its finally the holidays. Yesterday was my official first day of freedom. Went out for lunch with Yunjie at Kikuzawa. The sushi and sashimi there are fresh and sweet. Unlike those that you see those on the conveyor belts moving around for ages haha. Lunch was really a delight. After that, we went to catch "the Incredibles". Was really a nice show no doubt about it. Hmmm, haven't really enjoyed myself this much ever since school started. Should really do more of this before another hellish semester starts again haha. For now, i shall sit back, relax and savour my favourite time of the year - christmas period.
