Save Brown
This week had been a disturbing week. For those who know, Mr Brown wrote an article on the 30th Jun titled "Singaporeans are fed, up with progress" which caused the Press Secretary to the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts to rebute calling Mr Brown someone who "
distorts the truth" and "
he offers no alternatives or solutions". Soon after, his column in TODAY was suspended. From what i see, Mr Brown was just expressing his opinions on what is happening around and this is what he gets. Mind you that most of the things he wrote are true and even if he doesn't offer any solution, it is the RIGHT of a citizen to express his views and give feedbacks. If we were expected to give feedbacks AND solutions, then what is the use of having all those highly paid ministers.
Truth is, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Progress Package doesn't solve anything. It is an easy way out by just throwing money, but it is definitely not the solution to the problem. I've actually seen and known people who are not at all well off and actually pass away because they can't afford medical treatments. It's not because their family members didn't do anything but its just simply they can't. Everywhere they turn is a dead end. So is the Progress Package of any use?? Is rising cost a mystery? Touch your heart and tell me if what Mr Brown said is true or false.
I really feel disheartened by what is happening. Especially how the people up there are trying to silence voices of the public. It is not as if what Mr Brown had said was untrue. It's just not pleasant to the ears of the powers-that-be.
Excuse me but this is, in 2 simple words, FUCKED UP...
If you guys are interesetd, check out
